En ninguna parte en nadie

En un momento, un tris, un instante, se puede inaugurar una abertura impresionada, una realidad que no te pertenece pero que se instala impositiva e inmediata en la presteza de ese soplo como la única realidad irrefutable: la enfermedad. La sociedad, que eteriza la experiencia tras un desarrollo de cortinas sintéticas, nos enfrenta aturdidos a nuestros enfermos, nos enfrenta a la carosis de nuestros pacientes en la perplejidad de la atención y la espera. Todo cuanto nos queda a partir de ese momento está subordinado a esa espera. Para Simone Weil ésta no es actividad sino sustancia, no una actividad del ser sino la sustancia del ser. Ante el que sufre uno conforma un espacio para la duración, para la trascendencia. En esa espera el médico ejerce de iniciador en el mundo especializado de la enfermedad aunque nunca se pregunte porqué el alargamiento de la vida tras la prorrogación científica ha terminado dándole a la muerte el papel de la sexualidad; es decir, ocupando el mayor de los tabús. Álvaro Escriche muestra en esta exposición elegíaca la ocupación de una espera angustiada (la de la enfermedad de su madre) desde la mostración de autorretratos estenopeicos que sin embargo contienen el no rostro baconiano y una serie de vanitas penetrales que insisten en las representaciones de la muerte y la agonía; del dolor por el otro, que Levinas interpretaba como el único sentido que puede atribuirse al sufrimiento.

Desde el 26 de octubre de 1977, el día siguiente a la muerte de su madre, hasta el 15 de septiembre de 1979 Roland Barthes comenzó un Diario de Duelo; el 12 de abril de 1978 reflejó:

¿Escribir para acordarse? No para recordarme, sino para combatir el desgarramiento del olvido en cuanto que se anuncia absoluto. El – pronto- “ya ninguna huella”, en ninguna parte en nadie.

INTEGRA, el I Festival de Fotografía de Pergamino (Argentina), ha tenido lugar durante los meses de Noviembre y Diciembre con la participación de artistas nacionales e internacionales.

La Asociación de Arte GAE junto con el espacio fotográfico RegistrARTE, han trabajado en la organización del 1er Festival Fotográfico en la ciudad de Pergamino, como generadores de una actividad colectiva entre fotógrafos, artistas y amantes de la fotografía, creando espacios de exposición alternativos, fomentando la interacción e integración social y sumando a la cultura pergaminense.

2º Encuentro de arte universitario

Lugar: Bilbao Exhibition Centre

IKAS-ART es un encuentro de arte universitario en el que Universidades de Bellas Artes, nacionales e internacionales, muestran las obras de sus alumnos. Obras de distinta tipología y procedencia que permite a los visitantes descubrir la vanguardia del arte universitario.

El evento se completa con mesas redondas y conferencias dirigidas a expertos y con talleres participativos abiertos a toda clase de público, incluyendo los más pequeños.

La investigación, innovación y creatividad se darán cita en esta muestra que permitirá al visitante hacer su propia lectura de lo que ve, pero además, contará con la supervisión y perspectiva del propio artista.

Es, en definitiva, una iniciativa dirigida a impulsar los jóvenes valores, en la que el arte es el eje central de la muestra y donde se desarrollarán actividades para involucrar al público.

En la presente edición se contará con la presencia de las 15 Facultades de Bellas Artes estatales, así como la asistencia de Universidades europeas procedentes de Burdeos, Helsinki, L’Aquila, Cracovia, Berlín, Amsterdam, etc..

SKOPJE'S DISORDER

Sé que estuve en una ciudad.

Sólo entonces podría recordar a los dos hombres sentados a la puerta de un local que llevaba días sin abrir, como quien se sienta en la antoxana de casa y ve pasar la tarde. Pero era de noche. Y sólo pasaba por allí un perro, muy despacio.

Cruzar el puente era como atravesar el país. Después del terremoto de 1963 queda una ciudad, y al otro lado la vida de los centro comerciales.

Había un gato subido a un árbol, a medio metro del suelo.

Y estaban las piernas, las larguísimas piernas de una adolescente en pantalones cortos, movidas al ritmo de alguna horrible canción española.

Los dos hombres sentados parecían octogenarios, pero sólo en las manos.

El éxito: atravesar ese país y que un montón de manos aplaudieran, como quien hace una performance y premia algo tan simple como dar un paso.

Cruzar un puente, cruzar un país.

De sus famosas siete puertas sólo entendí que la salida era accesible. Y que nadie se iba.

Cualquiera podía salvar al gato del árbol. Pero salvarlo de qué.

Alejandro Sanz como objeto de adoración. Carlos Baute para creer que el sol que llega a esta ciudad no es el sol latino, no es el sol cálido. Es otra cosa. En este filohispanismo tampoco hablamos el mismo idioma.

Se mantiene cierto orgullo ex soviético, en las conversaciones, en los carteles. Y las cucharas son rojas, pequeñas y no dan miedo.

Sé que estuve en una ciudad, recuerdo los puestos ambulantes.

Un día la buena gente entenderá que no todos los gatos tienen que ser salvados. Aunque entender eso les haga ser un poco menos buena gente.

Y qué importa el resto de pasos. Para quién son los otros puentes. Mejor, ¿dónde están?

La escultura de la Madre Teresa lleva demasiado tiempo con las manos juntas como para recordar por quién estaba rezando.

Hay un modo de no estar en el que el tiempo transcurre, como un urbanismo forjado en ausencia.

Ni un solo perro con correa. En esta ciudad, como en mi pueblo, los perros duermen libremente en la calle. Como en casi todas partes, sueñan que corren. Y como en mi pueblo, y en muy pocos sitios más, al despertar, corren.

Nadie se va de Skopje, primero retienen tu pasaporte. Después hay otra fuerza, como si se entretejiera el espejismo de un hogar.

Tres puentes. Y pensé, tres ríos.

El árbol se abre paso entre las rejas de la tienda como un pulso simbólico, o las ganas de ser, aunque no le dejen, sin más, un árbol.

Si en esta ciudad hay tantos niños… ¿por qué parece tan vieja?

Sé que estuve en una ciudad, recuerdo algunas palabras.

Bajo un puente una televisión grande y desfasada se aparta de la calle, de lado. De encenderla, quizás sólo saldrían personas durmiendo.

Qué sencillo entenderte con los demás cuando sólo sabes decir “gracias”. Las demás expresiones son gestos universales y, pese a ello, generosos.

La cultura urbana tiene aires de terrorismo. El terrorismo, aquí, tienen aspecto de país vecino.

La verdadera historia sobre perros y gatos está más allá de la plaza en la que proyectan gigante el Macedonia-Grecia de la Eurocopa de baloncesto. La verdadera historia sobre perros y gatos está en ese respeto de los animales propios, jamás domésticos, que comparten ciudad sin enfrentarse ni reclamarse cariño. Con un pitido del árbitro se retoma el partido, y con él la verdadera historia de los hombres.

¿Qué el puente de piedra? Qué que no tenga el Puente Carlo, o el de Teruel –si es que no son el mismo, como un portal dimensional de los sitios hermosos- o el que se levanta exhausto de sí mismo sobre El Manzanares.

Una ciudad que se parece a su misma repetición en los días. Quise decir la suma de mis viajes más torpes.

Sé que estuve en una ciudad de la que conservo un recuerdo dérmico.

Quédate, te dice la plaza. Responderías que éste no es tu sitio, pero de ser honesta, tampoco sabrías decir cuál sí lo es.

Memento Mori es una serie elegíaca dedicada a la figura de mi madre a través de mi autorretrato.

Es un acto de confesión. Es la intención de liberar, de transformar mi agonía. Es por eso que me resulta difícil de definir...

Una vez más, la fotografía hace de ventana en un juego con el rostro como reflejo del alma y no sólo como una mera reproducción mecánica de los rasgos.

El uso de la cámara estenopeica permite el establecimiento de una relación muy diferente con la luz, traspasando e impregnando ese vehemente patetismo en la obra.

It opens Sunday 22 November at 20,00 o’clock the contemporary art show “ANIMA MUNDI/ Soul of the world” devoted to Divine Commedy by Dante Alighieri.

The show is curated by Dores Sacquegna, in exhibition the artworks of painting, photography, video art, mix media and installation by following artists:

Anima Mundi it is a Latin philosophical term to describe the soul of the world, the nature in her totality, it represents the unifying principle from which take form the single organisms. Platone was among the first one to speak of “Soul of the world” inheriting this concept from oriental traditions, orphic and pitagoric theories. For the philosopher, the world is a kind of great animal, whose general vitality is supported by the soul. In the past centuries, the concept has found a correspondent in the logos, in the soul contaminated by the subject, tied up to magic concepts, alchemic and hermetic, in the astrology and in the horoscope, and above all in the agreement among celestial and terrestrial events, as expressions of a same vital principle. From Schelling to Schopenhauer, from Bergson to Carl Jung, the concept of soul of the world is developed following the parameter of the Atman or the Ego, that is the principle of the Itself individual and internal, as it happens today in the oriental religions, and it symbolizes the indissoluble union of the cosmic dualism of the yin and yang, according to a harmonic and organic vision of the universe. Hovewer, one of the most important literary testimonies of the medioeval civilization is the poem “Divine Comedy” by Dante Alighieri. Divided in three parts calls "cantiche" (Hell, Purgatory and Heaven) it narrates the trip of poet through the three ultramundane kingdoms with the objective to reach the presence of God. The textual structure of the Comedy coincides with the cosmological representation of the medieval imaginary. The trip to the hell and on the mountain of the Purgatory they represent,in fact, the crossing of the whole planet, conceived as a sphere, from his depths to the most elevated regions; while the Heaven is a representation symbolic and visual of the tolemaic cosmos’s memory. In the poem there is an universal personal vision under the aspect of redemption of the humanity, redemption of the poet after a period of aberration (dark forest), political and religious redemption. Paraphrasing the Divine Comedy, some artists in the show, propose different formalities on the relationship of the poem. The French Juanca, has realized two pictorial works, putting to comparison the hell and the Heaven, not only distinguishing in the color steps (red the first and blue the second), but also in the graphics layout. The hell is a rock from whose cracks sinks in a dark place, warm; while the Heaven has been identified as an island surrounded by an ocean, the blue color, among its qualities is also associated to the serenity, to the peace, while the red to the passion, to the pain, etc. Paolo Consorti’s work (from San Benedetto del Tronto) at the divine comedy is inspired to its production in to treat the human nature and the sin, in an extraordinary visual match where the classical art unites him to the contemporary art. In the video performance, "Inside the secret things", the artist is director and scriptwriter, he recreates a cinematographic set, where he representing the third song of the hell of Dante, with a look suffered on today's humanity. From the Hell to the Heaven, from the sins to the expiations they are alternated a series of works that accompany us in this extraordinary trip in the anima mundi. Alexandra De Pinho Ferreira, Portuguese, has chosen the footstep where Dante meets Beatrice that will conduct him in the Heaven. She has represented the run or labyrinth, with a cobweb (type game of the goose) to whose center a lamp from miners extinguished, where the words of Beatrice resound and subsequently a lamp turned on that it represents that the run is next to God. Of great visual impact, the installation "De Profundis" of Roberta Fanti, from Turin, that introduces three elements that followinf all of her production and concept of works: a naked and chained body, that represents the suffering as expiation of the sins, the red rose as symbol of the sin but also of the love, a box of weak (light box) light with the writing in Latin that represents the rule, the passage, the grave or the life over the death. Elements that play on different keys of reading and that they move concepts of duality between passion and pleasure, between sacred and profane, among ancient and modern, between the same duality and the unity. Around seven sins it search Dario Manco from Puglia, even, present in show with the first three photos that allude to the Anger, the Haughtiness and the Throat. A graphic layout, that remembers us the pictorial production of the white and black in the series "over the wall" and "identity." The artist, sinks in a white colour our more lowest sins, worse, setting the accent in few points of red color, while the figures, as ancient photos alternate from the white to the black. The white acts from not color, from passage, from redemption, gives us the possibility to observe and to understand.The Comedy narrates of angels “driver” and of custodians of the kingdom of the inferred, the figure of the angel crosses numerous religions and doctrines. Jasnica Klara Matić, represents with a lyric and bright painting the custodians of the good and the evil. That of Dante it is a trip in his conscience, a mute dialogue between the terrestrial world and that ultramundane. "Visible to speak", it is the title of the video by Annalisa Silingardi, from Modena, that play with a dialogue for images. Always on the duality among well and badly, the informal works of the Austrian Irma Michaela Szalkay, that sets the accent on more levels than perception uniting myth, philosophy and harmony. Finally, love wins on everything, in the digital paintings of the Mexican Ricardo Villagran, that, also as Consorti, loves to unite the clasical concept with contemporary aspect in two tableau from the great visual effects. According to the German philologist Erich Auerbach, the Comedy is deeply innovative, because it extends to an ample and dramatic representation of the reality. Today's hell, certainly is not the circle of the damned that burn in the eternal flames, but can certainly be associated it to the calamities, to the wars, to the eternal struggle between religions and states, to the contaminated environment, to the violences, etc. Anima Mundi is note like the soul of the world, a box of resonance of all of our emotions, of the way according to which we compare us to the nature or to the choices of life. Certainly rediscovering the ancient relationship zen with the nature and the mythology, present in the photographic works of the Dutch Corrie Anconé (emigrated in Australia in 1953), we can understand better perhaps our nature of human beings that live this world and that we are only of passage, leaving to man’s of the future a new way to compare to the places, as the American Janine Biunno suggests, in her lithographies of the series "commerce" or reflecting on our identity "genetically modified" in the vision of the perugian Simone Chiorri or to reflect on the concepts of culture and immigration, as sayd the Spanish Álvaro Escriche suggests us with his origamis, not to fall in the desolation, in the limbo of the uncertainty, in the run without destination of the sketches of "Sky and Earth" of the English David Harker. "Subway" it is the title of the installation of the Swedian Krister Paleologos, already whose name "paleo logos" it pushes us in the deepest placet, today calls subways, where the artist writes and draws the passage of the people, of the standstills, of the attended, of the speed and of the chaos. On pop way the English Madeleine Strindberg, tells for images, the war conflicts of the oriental countries, the child-rapes that ride mules on desolate lands,surrounded by armed wagons, bombs anti man and radiations. Many artists, today, look at the social reality, because social and cultural differences are evident even more that in the past. For Slovenian Urh Sobocan, the world should constantly look at the past, because the innovation exists if there is no abuse of the things that the tradition has taught us. He, realizes, in fact, the work "survive", with the ancient work of the lace, that doesn't leave space to the photomechanical reproduction but that creates an interrelation among handmade and art, between artist and surrounding space. With "Behind the mask", the Canadian Monte Wright, realizes a series of digital photos, connecting to the myth of the mask, used in remote times as mean of communication between the men and the gods, while in modern times is in the theatrical representations or in the popular parties as the Carnival. And finally, on the relationship between nature and organic architecture, the works of painting and printmaking by Korean Joo Yeon Judy Yang, recently transferred in New York, in her works differences are recognized between the origin and the acquired culture.

Cargada de una alta poética visual, hace visible a través de su fotografía y de textos periodísticos sobre diferentes culturas e inmigración, un llamamiento a la interculturalidad, a la par que un homenaje a los que no tuvieron la suerte de nacer en el privilegio de un mundo desarrollado.

BIOGRAFÍA

Álvaro Escriche (Sevilla, 1980) vive y trabaja en Sevilla, desarrollando un trabajo artístico multidisciplinar, cimentado principalmente en la fotografía.

Licenciado en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Sevilla en las especialidades de Diseño Gráfico & Grabado y Escultura, a la par que Técnico Superior en Artes Aplicadas de la Piedra y Artes Aplicadas de la Escultura por la Escuela de Arte y Oficios de Sevilla, actualmente cursa el Doctorado en la US y estudios de Fotografía Artística en la Escuela de Arte de Sevilla.

Ha recibido varios premios, entre ellos el I Premio de Fotografía Universidad de Sevilla (2008), el 1º Premio de Fotografía en el XII Certamen de Creación Fronteras de Papel (2009) y el 1º Premio en Obra Gráfica en el III Concurso de Temática Social, Solidaria y de Voluntariado de la Universidad de Sevilla (2009).

Participante en múltiples exposiciones a nivel nacional e internacional, en 2009 su obra fue expuesta en Italia con motivo de la colectiva “Anima Mundi” (Primo Piano Gallery, Lecce) y en la National Gallery of Macedonia (Skopje), en la Bienal de Jóvenes Creadores de Europa y del Mediterráneo. En España ha participado, entre otros, en el Certamen de Fotografía Contemporarte (Andalucía), “Sexo II” en la galería El Fotómata (Colectivo Es3arte), en el XlV y XV Certamen Nacional de Artes Plásticas de la US, IKAS-ART 2008 (Bilbao) y en las Reales Academias de Bellas Artes de Granada y Sevilla.

Su obra forma parte de colecciones como las de la Delegación de Juventud y Deportes del Ayuntamiento de Sevilla, el Servicio de Atención a la Comunidad Universitaria (SACU), Servicio de Actividades Deportivas (SADUS) y el Centro de Iniciativas Culturales de la Universidad de Sevilla (CICUS).

BIOGRAPHY

Álvaro Escriche (Seville, 1980) lives and works in Seville developing multidisciplinary artistic work based mainly on photography.

He is currently doing his PhD studies at the University of Seville and studying Applied Arts to Photography. He is a university graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Seville and is specialised in Graphic Design & Printmaking and Sculpture. He also has a professional diploma from the School of Arts and Crafts in Stone Applied Arts and Sculpture Applied Arts.

He has received several prizes, including the “I University of Seville Award in Photography” and the First prize in Photography in the XII Creation Contest "Fronteras de Papel", exhibited in the National Gallery of Macedonia in the XIV Biennal of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean.

He has participated in a number national exhibitions, and was selected in the I Creation Contest of Andalusian Universities: Contemporarte 2009, in the XIV and XV Visual Art National Competitions of the University of Seville, in the LVII National Exhibition of Autumn of The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Santa Isabel of Hungary (RABASIH), in the Royal Academies of Fine Arts of Granada, and in several collective exhibitions such as "Anima Mundi" in Primo Piano Gallery (Italy), “Sexo II” in El Fotómata Gallery (Colectivo “Es3arte”) and IKAS ART’08 in Bilbao.
